Willy Fautré, Director and Co-founder
Willy was an active advocate for human rights in Communist countries during the Cold War. He has extensive experience in freedom of religion or belief around the world. He is a member of the International Consortium on Law and Religious Studies. He has written many articles in university journals, held lectures in academic conferences, testified before inter-state organizations and given interviews to international media.
Elisa Van Ruiten, Project Manager & Gender Specialist
Elisa is a feminist, mother, and human rights advocate with over ten years of experience running projects in both the private and public sectors. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from San Francisco State University and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law and International Relations from the University of Kent, Brussels School of International Studies where she focused on human rights, women’s rights, and trafficking. She also recently published a booklet, Women’s Rights & Religion: a report on women’s rights and Christianity, Islam and Judaism.
Lea Perekrests, Deputy Director
Lea has a degree in International Relations, with a minor in Religious Studies from Connecticut College. She has professional experience working in academia and with NGOs in the U.S. and Europe. She focuses specifically on foreign policy and peace-building with a particular interest in the Middle East and Central Asia.
